Upgrading from halogen to LED

We can assess your existing fittings, remove the old halogen downlights and install suitable LED replacements. Where required, we can also address existing transformers, plugs, wiring or dimmers as part of the upgrade.

Dimmer switch installation

Insulation-compatible & fire-rated downlights
Where ceiling insulation is present, the correct type of downlight needs to be selected so it can be safely installed in or around insulation. We use appropriately rated LED fittings and install them in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements and Australian electrical standards.
Where the ceiling forms part of a fire-rated construction, a suitable fire-rated downlight may also be required. We assess the ceiling and installation conditions before selecting the appropriate fitting.
Bathroom downlights
Bathrooms require careful consideration when selecting and positioning downlights due to the presence of water and moisture. Depending on where the fitting is located, an appropriate IP (Ingress Protection) rating may be required.

Do I need fire-rated downlights?

Yes, if your ceiling has insulation above it. The Building Code of Australia requires fire-rated fittings in insulated ceilings.

Are LED downlights better than halogen?

Can I install downlights myself?

No. In NSW, any electrical work involving fixed wiring must be carried out by a licensed electrician. This includes installing downlights and connecting them to circuits. DIY electrical work is illegal and voids your home insurance.
How long does downlight installation take?
